Photo: Front View Showing Skirt Fullness

This costume was made from made from two commercial patterns and part my design. The two patterns that were used was Simplicity 2966(A corset pattern which was used for the bodice). The other pattern that was used was Simplicity 3723( was used for the skirt portion of the gown). My design for the gown was the embellishments for the bodice front which consists of various size yo yos surround by sequins that were hand sewn individually. The centers of the yo yos are suppose represent flowers(Poppies and Pansies). There are also random leaves in sequins with some of the flowers. The top and bottom of the bodice are trimmed with iridescent sequins which on consists of purples, blues and greens and the sides and back are covered with iridescent sequins. The other part of my design is the hankerchief sleeves and the beginning of the sleeves. The strap part of the sleeves are also made from yo yos. The centers of the yo yos also have the iridescent sequins and a row of that sequin is linking the strap part together. The fabrics that was used for this costume was a woven cotton for the bodice. The underskirt is made of satin(not shown). The sleeves and outerskirt are a chiffon.
