The Association of Sewing and Design Professionals (formerly the Professional Association of Custom Clothiers--PACC) is a non-profit organization providing its members networking and referral opportunities, leading-edge technical education, business training and professional development. ASDP now offers a new program for members that focuses on developing professional standards for those with sewing and design careers.

The program is called the Master Sewing and Design Professional Certification Program and contains seven modules including design, fabric, fashion illustration, fit, garment construction, pattern development, and professional practices to help build the skills and practices of a well qualified sewing and design professional.

"The Certification Program recognizes and evaluates the skills of those participating," states Linda Stewart, Vice President of Certificate Programs for ASDP. "The program is thorough both in the breadth and depth of topics covered; one who completes this program is truly a master!"

Upon completion, graduates receive a certificate with the Master Sewing and Design Professional (MSDP) title. This set graduates apart in their field to become certified teachers and also adds them to the searchable referral list on ASDP's website.

Aside from this new certification, the ASDP is a great organization for sewing and design-minded professionals to network, gain more education in their field, find business training, and even referral opportunities.
